Here are a mom and baby kangaroo that live in the Outback, We (the family I work for whose property this is) drove around in the back of a pick-up truck trying to find them and these were the first we got to get an actual picture of.
Here is a Koala that was sleeping at the wildlife park we went to right before we left the Outback. We kept petting him and he didn't wake up but I don't think he was dead just a heavy sleeper.
This one was probably the cutest because he was awake and looking at us.

I was telling Alice and Joel I had this dream the other night where we played a drinking game when the family got together. It was a great drinking game because it involved dessert. Everyone had a dessert with them and whenever you had to drink you had either yours and/or someone else's dessert and then you had to pass your dessert to the next one having to take a drink. And we were drinking some very fancy drink but I can't remember much about it. Mom had this chocolate cheesecake that looked so good and it had a special chocolate frosting too. But one weird thing that happened was that we played with this very country guy from Mississippi who kinda cheated on the deserts. He made strawberry walnuts pancakes but tried to disguise it as a bundt cake. And they tasted weird too.

I had some kangaroo and it was really good. And I ate some food that was grilled with barbeque sauce and I ate it just fine and even enjoyed it. A big step for me.

So on a serious note which feels a little strange because I usually don't bring things like this up online but we have been talking about the Holy Spirit at church and after a day of feeling so mad at myself for something I did I realized that feelings of guilts were just kinda consuming me and making me feel like less of a person. And I kinda think now that guilt is like an evil spirit that Satan wants to use to slow us down and make us feel defeated in our relationship with God and in life. So I just prayed for awhile asking God to remove this spirit of guilt I have had for so long and I've been freed. I'm sure that is something God has wanted to free me from for a long time.  So just something I'm experiencing here and and something that excites me. I'm also trying to deal with my silverware issue. I still hear it all but I try to focus on other things.

Oh so I'm running 4 kilometers and I'm going to try to go 6 when I go running this evening. I'll let you know if I make it.

Lunch at the Skybury Coffee Plantation and Restaurant

Feeding Wallabies in the rainforest
Seeing the Rainforst from a skyrail, although that was one we just passed

The Great Barrier Reef

Hi there, I have done a lot since I last wrote. I'll just write a few of the highlights. I got to go to the Great Barrier Reef and to the Rainforest which were both around the city of Cairns (pronounced cans). So on the day I went to the rainforest, I was on a tour with about 13 other people and I think there were maybe 4 of us under 40, and then a couple in their forties and all the rest were retired but everyone was really fun. There were multiple conversations (at least 4) during the day about how hard technology is and how young people are lucky to learn what to do  with it when they grow up. The second time this came up was after I "fixed" a camera for a couple, all I really did was make it stop zooming in, the couple thought it was broken because it couldn't focus. We all ate lunch together at this Coffee Plantation we had a tour of. The lunch came with the tour and it was pretty good, and then the coffee ice cream for desert along with a mocha.

Then here in Sydney I got to go the Taronga Zoo, Opera House, and Botanical Gardens.  These were all next to each other so I did them all on Wednesday and it was a LOT of walking but the gardens were really beautiful. There were also a lot of bats there. And you could clearly see them in the trees and hear them, which was kinda eery.

The beach has been nice, I actually ran 3 kilometers this week so I'm working to get to 4 now.

Oh and I got to go the Max Brenner Chocolate bar and Cafe Restaurant. I had some dark hot chocolate there. It was like a "build your own" type thing and kinda complicated to explain but it was really good.

I'm going to add some more pictures later.

Hi there,

I actually wrote a post before and I thought I saved it but I guess not. Lots of things happening here. I think I'm going to wait to write about Hostels. So here are a few things I have found interesting.

The hamburgers: They are different here. Instead of pickles they put pickled beets (bluh). Makes me think of Dwight. Also they put pineapple and avocado on theirs. All the rest is I think the usual that we have. Except they call ketchup tomato sauce and they call what we call tomato sauce tomato paste. I don't know what they call what we call tomato paste. Also the Pizza kinda has a different personality here. Way more toppings. They just don't make it plain. About the plainest you can get is Hawaiian.

There was a huge fun run here. Tons of people ran from Sydney to Bondi. Its 14 km and one of the biggest fun runs in the world. I watched people come in right before reaching the finish line. Some people dressed up for charity (or maybe some for fun) but I saw all kinds of costumes. There were brides, fairies, someone was a valentines heart, super heros, especially spidermen. My favorite was Batman and Robin running together. There were mainly people in running clothes though. Speaking of running I'm up to a kilometer and going for more.

Oh one of my favorite things to do in Bondi is to feed the birds. There are lots of sea gulls, magpies, and pigeons and they are very aggressive. They actually made Hester cry because they started crowd us and were kinda scary. They are very entertaining. Also what's entertaining is when Hester gets mad at a bird if it ate a piece of bread she threw to another one.

Oh and I went to this huge Apple Computer store the other weekend. It was amazing and allowed people to use the Internet for free! But there were several stories and a huge apple you can see from far away outside. Apple computers are pretty popular around these parts. Oh and I got to see the harbor bridge and the Sydney Opera House while I was on a ferry. That was fun, some people actually take the ferry to work each day. This was all on one day but what was great was the pancakes I got at a restaurant. They were plain but had like a chocolate mousse creamy thing and then vanilla creme sauce in between them and then a special chocolate syrup and then walnuts and whipped cream I think. They were amazing.

Things here

Hi Everyone, I have really been wanting to post things awhile now but I'm a pretty bad multi-tasker. OK, so I like Australia. I love the beach and the city though I can't stand the prices of everything. The good news is I found a great swimsuit on sale because it's winter here (even though some are still like $100 dollars, this one was $20 at least). The other good news is that when you pay for something the tax has already been added in so its much easier to calculate.

This is Hester. This is a bit of a crazy picture because she is wearing bunny ears. Totally obsessed with them and ponies, fairies, and unicorns. She is a blast and so far we have more and more fun each week together.

Yeah for some reason I can't get this pic to be right side up. But this is Eva, she is six. She is in her school uniform which includes the fun hat there.

Here is a picture of the beach from the first place I stayed when I first got to Bondi. It had a balcony and this nice view.

I miss everyone. My next blog which wont be near as long in coming, will be about Hostels. Love yall!

What Should I Make?

I was telling Andrea tonight  I have some prominent ingredients I could make meals with and want to as the end of the year approaches but its kinda hard to figure something out because I am missing some other very important ingredients needed for cooking such as eggs and sugar. Here is what I have and please feel free to post anything you think might make a good combination.

- Bisquick - Rotel
- Whipping Cream - Vanilla and Almond Extract
- Captain Crunch - Unsweetened Chocolate
- Chicken legs - Oatmeal
- Corn - Coconut
- Almonds (not sliced) - Raisins
- Tortillas - Flour and Cornmeal
- Frozen Strawberries -Saltine Crackers
- Pepperonis - Some pasta
- Popcorn

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Today I got a note that made me laugh from some third graders.

It said:

"Dear, Mrs. Poteet
We love you and dont want you to live.

The First Row (and then there signatures all in a heart."

It took me a second but I think they meant leave, at least I hope so.
